Stop the Bloodbath

Urge the Governor of Taiji not to sign a hunting permit condemning innocent dolphins to death this year.

Every year from September through to March the largest dolphin slaughter in the world occurs in the coastal town of Taiji, Japan. The hunters create a wall of sound and herd terrified dolphins into a cove. The cove is netted off, leaving the dolphins no way to escape.

The“good looking” dolphins are ripped out of the wild in nets and exported to marine parks around the world. Many don’t survive the journey; those that do spend the rest of their lives performing tricks in front of loud crowds.

The remaining dolphins are brutally killed and sold as meat for pet food.

Hundreds of dolphins and pilot whales are stabbed to death every year.

This greedy industry suffered a major blow when an AFD legal action stopped 62 aquariums buying dolphins captured in Taiji in 2015. Now we’re working on a legal action to end the hunts for good, but dolphins desperately need your help to lay the groundwork before it can be launched.

Please, add your name to the petition and help keep up the pressure to end these brutal hunts: http://www.afd.org.au/stop-the-bloodbath.
